I really enjoy working with adult women who are experiencing stressful life events such as job stress or job change, starting a family and/or infertility, parenting challenges, relationship (romantic or friendship) difficulties, anxiety, depression, grief, and/or self-esteem concerns.
Additionally, I have a child with a serious heart defect and would love to offer support if you are also facing all the emotions that parenting a child with a chronic health condition can bring.
I offer a supportive space to discuss these life stresses that is free of judgment and full of empathy. It is my hope that we can develop skills, strategies, and supports to help decrease the impact of the stressors you are facing. Many of the strategies can be used across a wide variety of the circumstances we face in our day-to-day lives. I have used many of these strategies and skills in my own life!
I am fond of approaches that stem from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, the work of Dr. Brené Brown (see here for more information - she's wonderful and her work has changed my life!!), and the work of Dr. Kristen Neff (see here).
